BS Knitters Secret Santa GIft Exchange

We are having a Secret Santa gift exchange this year! It is completely optional if you want to sign-up.

Sign-ups will close on November 18th and you will be notified of your giftee via Rav or email or Facebook shortly thereafter to allow time to craft/buy items. The gift exchange will be at the December 16th knitting night. Please specify on the form if you are willing to be an angel. An angel is a person who is willing to be a backup Secret Santa in the event that someone cancels after signups and sorting.

**Rules:**
* $10-$15 limit on item/items
* Regifting or gifting from your stash/library will be acceptable as long as the items are in like new condition. This means if you are gifting from your stash it is preferred that ball bands/tags are still on the yarn. *Exemption*: If you are hand dyeing or spinning yarn for your giftee, you can make your own tag showing fiber contents.
* Remember, this is a gift for a fellow fiber lover so at least one of the items in your gift must be of interest for a fiber crafter (notions/yarn/handmade item/pattern/book/fiber)

Signups are closed.
The information you provide will help your Secret Santa make your gift special for you.

One more week!

Fiber Camp materials have arrived early from Knit Picks so everyone who ordered with the group can rest assured that their materials have arrived. If you missed out on ordering you can still observe the workshops or bring your own materials.

Registration is now closed so that plans can be made for the confirmed attendees. If you were a maybe and I haven't heard otherwise updating your status I am considering you a not-going-to-be-able-to-make-it instead of an attendee. Please let me know if you are going to be able to come.

A workshop schedule will be forthcoming this weekend. I can't wait to spend a whole week with friends and fiber!

Meeting highlights or lowlights? You decide.

9/9/10 "Where exactly do you grab that?" "I'm ricocheting around in my own head." Penis count: 45+ (the + is for someone's comment about Old Penis'. We figured it was worth extra credit)

So, were you warned that this might not be your grandmother's prim & proper knitting circle?

Since some of us are already grandmothers and most of us had a grandmother or two who didn't fit the accepted definition of "prim" or "proper," the BS Knitters have set our own rules as to what is too crass or crude a topic for discussion in a public setting, namely the Starbucks located in the Blue Springs Target store. The consensus is that NOTHING is off limits unless small children or tape recorders should make their way into our audible zone. And by audible zone, I'm saying anywhere near the store entrance since we are a boisterous group of fiber junkies who are high on caffeine and raspberry swirl bread (and the gods help us if Kellie should touch someone's dairy product!)

For those of you who may have missed a snippet of conversation or are foolish enough to wonder what the heck we were talking about, I'll clue you in to the background of this week's meeting highlights.

"Where exactly do you grab that?" refers to an anatomically incorrect cup coozie pattern found on Ravelry. Not this tastefully done booby coozie http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/booby-coozy, or this adorable sock monkey coozie http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/george---sock-monkey-cup-cozy, or even this penis-shaped chapstick coozie--just what you need to keep your lips from chapping at those outdoor revival meetings. No, this coozie had it all, boobs, pubic hair and a penis. Unfortunately, I can't locate the pattern. I know, your disappointment runs deep, as does mine. Let's just allow our imaginations to run wild with this one, shall we?

"I'm ricocheting around in my own head." flew out of Celia's mouth. Need I say more?

The Weekly Penis Count is just what it sounds like because there's nothing that says knitting like a penis. Unless it's a testes.
